A little bit about me...

Thank you for being here! I'm Bailey Smith...a thirty-something Christian wife and sober momma with a passion for the creative outlet that being behind the chair provides! I have been a licensed cosmetologist since 2010! After taking a break for a few years and returning to the industry to find so many amazing changes to technique, science, and more...I can honestly say I have never enjoyed it as much and been happier than I am now!!

My husband and I have grown our little tribe in Lees Summit MO. We are in looove with this town...it is a very special place for young families! This also where you'll find me working in the salon for my second Beauty Brands store on Rice Rd.

I am capable of doing lots of different hair services from razor cuts to perms but I have specialized in lived-in color and hand-tied extensions! And let's give location bridal hair an honorable mention! :) The health of the hair is very important to me and I really enjoy teaching my clients HOW to treat and style their hair at home! In my chair, everyone is welcome as long as you are KIND!

Scissored Haircut

$37

This haircut includes a shampoo, cut, and blow dry. Sometimes I have a little extra time for styling and can throw in some fun waves or curls, otherwise please book extra time for styling! :) I love to cut face framing and bangs, layers, feathered razor cuts, I'm really good with softening hard lines in haircuts because of the WAY I cut. Kids cuts (age 10 and under) are $19. Tips: Please book as a women's haircut if they have a ton of hair. Detangle your child's hair before their appointment. Kids cuts actually include a shampoo and blowdry-so if they are properly booked we don't have to skip any fun steps! Yay! My clipper cuts/mens cuts are $26. I am NOT a barber so I cannot use a razor blade or do any cool designs but I have a great reference for that!

Basic Color

$75+

When I say basic color I mean a root touch up with actual color (not bleach) and a gloss ($29) for the ends! I paint this right onto the hair, no foils are involved! During this service we might use permanent or demi color based on the hair type, grey %, and hair history. :)

Specialty Color

$175-300

This is a really good way to describe a big color project where we might do several specialized things- skills I have learned and crafted over many, many years of continued education. This might look like an all over balayage with a root melt and gloss. This price can only be properly quoted during a live or sometimes virtual consultation.

Basic Foiling

$95+

This type of service could be a traditional hilight, lowlight, or both! These foils are typically placed closer together around the face for optimal brightness, weaved finer along the hairline for a seamless hairline when pulled back, and are commonly done all over the whole head with a few partial foil services in between. It is best to gloss the hair after, even if we just use a clear gloss to bring the hair back into pH balance.

Specialty Blonding

$175-300

This is similar to a specialty color except the goal is to go lighter and use techniques like balayage, foilayage, hand-painted highlights, teasylights, money pieces, ect. They are usually paired with root melts, root taps, glosses, and specialized bonding reconstructors. Lots of product, foils, film, and fancy stuff are used! These are going to be your high end but typically LOW maintenance services. They are big beautiful projects that take a lot of time, skill, and money for both the stylist and the client but can last the client months and months!

I LOVE doing bridal hair!!! It has always been one of my specialties! I do require a 5 person minimum to take off work at my salon and travel on site- that's the bride plus 4 adults. I do require a $100 deposit to hold that date. My travel fee is $50 plus $2 a mile over 45 miles away. A Trial run is highly recommended during the same season of the wedding (think humidity, temperature ect) but if one cannot be done for some reason we will plan for extra time! :) If you have an extra large wedding party we will need to hire a second or third stylist for the day!

This may seem like WHOA!! That was a lot of things but in order to have the most seamless, flawless start to your magical wedding day- we must iron out all the wrinkles! Having a highly trained expert or team of experts (think stylist, make up artist, photographer, wedding coordinator, ect) come TO YOU on the day of YOUR EVENT is the new standard! And that styled hair is going to be walking down the isle and dancing all night long! I cannot wait to work with you and create some dreamy angel bride hair!

Hand-tied Weft Extensions

Extensions can lengthen and add mind-blowing fullness to your hair- creating an amazing transformation! Hair is purchased once and "moved up" every 2 months. Proper care of the extension hair should last 9-12 months before it needs to be replaced.

When should I rebook?

Haircut

Low-No heat: 8-12 weeks
Regular use of heat: 6-8 weeks
Short hair: 3-5 weeks

Root touch up

this depends on how fast your hair grows. Typically about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch every 6 weeks.

Demi Color

This is the most gentle color but it also gently fades. 4-6 weeks depending on water temp, heat usage, amount of shampoos, type of shampoo ect.

Permanent Color

This will fade a bit but it's mostly permanent! You typically only want to apply permanent on virgin hair- not over previously colored or lightened hair. So rebooking this color varies by situation.

Toner/Gloss

A "toner" typically lasts 2 weeks with some previously mentioned variables. Even though it does not last as long a some other colors, it is usually very vital in closing the hair cuticle to lock in color and moisture, keep the hair smooth and bring balance to the pH of the hair!

Blonde Maintenance

Lightening the hair (bleach) literally removes most-all pigment from the hair so the blonde will not "fade" but it might turn "brassy" or gold/yellow and can also become "dull". In between blonding sessions, clients can be successful by using PROFESSIONAL shampoo, mixing purple toning shampoo in with their regular shampoo (in moderation-as needed), never skipping heat protection, turning down the heat, and doing strengthening/nourishing treatments at home (like the Joico LUSTER LOCK deep conditioning treatment). Missing the pampering...book a gloss and hydrating treatment with me at the salon!
